Anyway, I was a little nervous putting this online. The word “rape culture” can invite some knee-jerk reactions (it sometimes still does with me, actually), but it can be a powerful word for the message you’re trying to send.
I hope mine got across.

PS: as I hope was part of the message that got across: I have a hard time blaming people who “don’t see” these problems around them. We’re so used to them that we literally forget what they are, or at least I do sometimes. If you’ve never had such an experience yourself, I can only be happy for you. Just know that most of us are not that lucky.
